SmartSynch Elevates Bryan Seal to Newly Created Position of Chief Knowledge Officer

SmartSynch, a global leader in public wireless smart metering technology serving the utility industry, has named Bryan Seal to the newly created executive position of Chief Knowledge Officer. In this capacity, Seal will utilize his 23 years of utility distribution and meter engineering expertise to ensure that SmartSynch continues to develop cutting edge solutions for the utility market that meet the needs of the company’s customers, partners and strategic allies. Mr. Seal will also serve as the chief liaison with SmartSynch’s meter manufacturing partners, telecommunication partners and component providers, and be active in the “thought leadership” arena, particularly in the areas of standard protocols and their adoption across the AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) landscape.

Mr. Seal joined SmartSynch in May 2005 to lead the company's software, hardware and firmware development efforts as Vice President of Engineering. Prior to joining SmartSynch, Mr. Seal worked for Mississippi Power Company (MPC), a subsidiary of The Southern Company, where he led the Metering Services’ automatic meter reading (AMR) projects from 1986 until 2005. Additionally, Mr. Seal served on The Southern Company Metering Services Technical Committee that oversaw all metering technology solutions deployed throughout The Southern Company's four-state service region.

Mr. Seal is a 1982 graduate of Mississippi State University with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He currently serves as a member of the Automatic Meter Reading Association (AMRA) Board of Directors.
