SmartSynch® Ad Campaign Garners National AccoladesMississippi-based Firm Recognized for Advertising Excellence Jackson, Miss. — March 13, 2006 SmartSynch, a global leader in wireless technology for the energy industry, has received the Advertising Excellence Award given by Baxter Research, Electric Light & Power Magazine and Utility Automation & Engineering. SmartSynch’s new ad campaign, called “Lightning in a Bottle,” is running in selected industry publications and was featured at the DistribuTech 2006 Conference and Trade Show in Tampa, Florida (February). “SmartSynch has always had bold and innovative award-winning products and we are grateful for the recent recognition of this bold and innovative advertising campaign,” said Stephen D. Johnston, SmartSynch’s chief executive officer. “The image of catching lightning in a bottle represents SmartSynch’s successful quest to build pioneering technologies for advanced metering applications. We believe the ad concept is in large part a reflection of the overall creative energy with which we serve our customers.” The ad leads with the phrase “Embrace the power of information,” and features a man—who happens to bear a striking resemblance to Thomas Edison—standing in a thunderstorm holding three jars containing lightning bolts. The stark illustration is part of a carefully concepted campaign which alludes to the ability of SmartSynch’s smart metering solution to harness electrical usage data instantly and efficiently.
