Matt Thornton and Jack Harrington Assume Key Positions at SmartSynch®

Growing High-Tech Company Expands Leadership Team

SmartSynch, a global leader in wireless advanced metering technology for the energy industry, has named Matt Thornton Vice President of Corporate Development and Jack Harrington Vice President of Finance.

Thornton and Harrington’s extensive business development skills and existing relationships will significantly strengthen SmartSynch’s ability to manage strategic partnerships with global energy, metering, and wireless communications providers during this period of accelerated growth. Additionally, the combination of Harrington’s multifaceted experience as an executive at Entergy along with Thornton’s background in technology incubation further enhances the company’s position as a wireless technology leader with broad industry expertise in the evolving international energy-tech market.

Thornton will be responsible for managing business development endeavors and cultivating corporate, strategic, and governmental relationships. Prior to joining SmartSynch, Thornton was a Managing Director and Fund Manager for InvestLinc Private Equity, LLC. Additionally, he has served as the Vice President for Innovation and Resource Development for the Mississippi Technology Alliance, where he counseled companies in capitalization structure, company formation, legal structure, mergers, and acquisitions. He has held key administrative positions with AmSouth Bancorporation and has served as a management consultant for Price Waterhouse LLC (now part of IBM Global Services), where he led global consulting projects dedicated to business process re-engineering, strategic alliance management, organizational change management, systems integration, supply chain management, merger integration, and transition planning.

Harrington will direct the company’s financial, legal, and human resources initiatives. Prior to joining SmartSynch, he was Managing Director for InvestLinc Private Equity, LLC and Co-Manager for the InvestLinc Midsouth Fund. He has served as Vice President and Treasurer for the Mississippi Technology Alliance and as President of Becon Services, Inc. He has worked in a variety of senior management roles for Entergy Corporation and its affiliate companies in New Orleans, LA and Jackson, MS, including Vice President and General Auditor, Vice President of Business Systems and Information, Corporate Controller, Director of Business Services, and Manager of Administrative Services. As a consultant, he counseled companies in capitalization structure, company formation, legal structure, and mergers and acquisitions.
