SmartSynch’s Managed Services option is a full-service application solution that hosts the Transaction Management System™ (TMS), processes all metering data and provides customizable data files to the client on a scheduled basis.

The Managed Services solution includes the daily operations and 24/7 maintenance of the TMS dedicated server, as well as the delivery and routine backup of all meter data by SmartSynch staff. The hosted and operated TMS software collects meter data wirelessly from every SmartMeter deployed in the field. SmartSynch then sends daily data files to the utility in addition to providing power outage and restoration notifications and other alarms.

This service option offers an easy, low-cost entry into the SmartSynch solution. Customers may choose to continue using Managed Services or transfer the devices to their own TMS application running in-house. As part of the Managed Services option, the TMS software and server are hosted at an off-site, state-of-the-art Network Operations Center (NOC).

Service and Maintenance Functions

  • Provide and operate the TMS server, software and communications connection to the wireless network
  • Coordinate with the client’s operations department to manage meters and data
  • Assist the client’s technical operations department to set up a secure FTP transfer of all daily billing data generated by TMS
  • Capture and provide metering data on a scheduled basis
  • Transfer daily metering data according to the client’s required file specifications
  • Perform daily backup of the client’s database and files
  • Provide support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

SmartView™ System

Offered as part of SmartSynch’s Managed Services solution, the SmartView System is a Web-based dashboard that enables utility personnel to monitor AMI system performance and view a range of selected meter data via real-time access to head-end databases.
