Matt Thornton joined SmartSynch in July of 2006 as Vice President of Corporate Development and is responsible for managing business development endeavors and cultivating corporate, strategic and governmental relationships.

Mr. Thornton has over 15 years of experience in management consulting positions with global organizations. Prior to joining SmartSynch, he was a Managing Director and Fund Manager for InvestLinc Private Equity LLC. He has served as the Vice President for Innovation and Resource Development for the Mississippi Technology Alliance, where he counseled more than 400 companies in capitalization structure, company formation, legal structure, mergers and acquisitions. He has held several key administrative positions with AmSouth Bancorporation and has served as a management consultant for Price Waterhouse LLC (now part of IBM Global Services), where he led global consulting projects dedicated to business process re-engineering, strategic alliance management, organizational change management, systems integration, supply chain management, merger integration and transition planning.

Mr. Thornton earned a bachelor's of business administration in banking and finance from the University of Mississippi, where he graduated magna cum laude.
