Based on the same secure AMI model as SmartSynch’s proven GPRS advanced metering solution, the Wi-Fi SmartMeter System enables direct two-way communication between the Transaction Management System™ (TMS) head-end application and SmartMeters deployed in urban areas with adequate coverage. The Wi-Fi SmartMeter System enables direct IP connectivity to each device, providing fast, secure metering data transfer, often with lower service costs than other backhaul systems. SmartSynch’s Wi-Fi SmartMeter System is completely secure, like its GPRS counterpart. Featuring the most secure communication available on any type of digital wireless system, the Wi-Fi SmartMeter System offers superior data protection by employing complex security measures, such as WPA Encryption Standards for secure network communications, 128-Bit End-to-End Encryption for all messages and Mutual Authentication between each SmartMeter and the TMS head-end system.
